Wholesale and export trade management assistants procure goods from various sectors and sell them on to trade, crafts and industry. They gather product knowledge, acquire customers, conduct benchmarking and market analyses, and monitor stock-keeping to ensure the smooth flow of goods.

Karcher GmbH offers the opportunity to work in an international environment.

For high school graduates, knowledge of international economics & business administration (e.g. international payment transactions, controlling, export & import processes) will be taught as an additional qualification. Regarding foreign languages, (English/French or English/Spanish) the focus is on commercial correspondence, business management content as well as conversation and grammar.

Carola

Apprenticeship as a Management Assistent in Wholesale and Export Trade Management, 3. year

My name is Carola, I am 24 years old and I am in the third year of my apprenticeship as a clerk in wholesale and export trade. During my apprenticeship I worked in various departments: customer aftersales service, warehouse and sales for Germany and export. Thanks to the different tasks in the multiple departments, I was always able to improve my knowledge and learn something new. For example, in the warehouse I had the opportunity to get to know the products, their assembly and possible variants better. This knowledge has carried over and continues to help me in the export and sales service departments.

Currently I am working in sales export department. I particularly like the contact with our customers and that I can use my native language (Italian).
The trainee’s product knowledge is deepened weekly with presentations and internal classes. This gives us a lot of information that is useful for answering customer enquiries.

A good working atmosphere is very important at Karcher Design. My colleagues are always helpful and I am sure that if I have any questions, they will help me prepare for the final exam in the best possible way.

I am still happy to be working my way through my apprenticeship and look forward to many new interesting tasks!

My name is Eric and I am from France. After my BAC S I decided to learn something new and challenge myself to study abroad to deepen my German and English skills, as well as to discover a new culture. That’s why I started my apprenticeship as a clerk in wholesale and export trade management with international additional qualification at Karcher-Design. This apprenticeship lasts 2 and a half years with alternating lessons in school and work in the company.
In school I learn about various new commercial subjects and improve my knowledge of German, Spanish and English. In the company I learn in the various departments and take part in the everyday tasks of each department.

Karcher-Design supports its trainees with lessons in English, German and various weekly training courses around their products.
I am now very happy to undertake my apprenticeship at Karcher Design. My tasks are always interesting and diverse, and I learn many new things.
