Nice, that you decided to drop by…
on our website where we can give you a little more information about who we are, what we do and why we are looking for you!
We – Jan und Isabel – and our 90 motivated employees are Karcher Design. We develop and distribute high quality, designer ironmongery products and their accessories in Europe and North America.
To continue as a successful company, we need specialized and highly trained staff – which is why we are also officially registered to offer further education qualifications. The dual training/apprenticeship system in Germany is unique in the world and we are very proud of it. The main purpose is to give young people, especially school leavers, the best start in their professional life. Having a well trained workforce in every sector helps to maintain the world renowned quality of German products. In total there are 324 officially registered professions in Germany.
The idea is to combine theory and work experience of one specific working field. This is similar to an apprenticeship, but it not just limited to trades. For the theoretical part, the trainee (or in German “Azubi”) goes to a technical college or trade school for two days each week. The remaining three days are spent working at the company, gaining practical experience and on-the-job training. The training course lasts between two to three years – depending on the working field you choose. The training is concluded with a final exam, following which the trainee receives an official education certificate which is recognised all over Germany. As an “Azubi” you are an employee of a company and will receive a fixed salary.
